That, Mr. Gates, is the sound of inevitability.
That, Mr. Gates, is the sound of inevitability.
Internet reporting at its best, or some sort of bizarre joke we don’t have time to track down?
Microsoft, via an email from departing CEO Jerry Yang, told its California employees that on Wednesday, as many as 1,500 employees will be tossed, inside sources confided to FBLA.
microimage.jpgNo details were available regarding the email, but one employee who read it said Yang talked about the need to make cutbacks. This was in keeping with his statement in mid-November that Yahoo! would have to layoff as much as 10% of its global workforce. He targeted Dec. 10 as D-Day for these employees. (MediaBistro)
Hmmmm, let’s see. Would you rather be unemployed or worrying about the implications of a sweet Microsoft acquisition.
Also, it seems like acknowledging that sort of risk doesn’t bode well when you are trying to increase the price of the offer.
From Yapoo’s 10K
“Microsoft’s unsolicited acquisition proposal has also created uncertainty for our employees and this uncertainty may adversely affect our ability to retain key employees and to hire new talent.”
